There have been many dance related fitness exercise programs materialize in the last few decades, but nothing quite matches up to Zumba's explosion of popularity that is and has been enjoyed by millions of avid fans if the experience. This phenomenon is a fantastic collection of various dance workout routines to Latino rhythms that most folks can learn.

Slender Dancers

Most people, when they think of working out, conjure up an image of a slender, lithe, leotard clad celebrity going through a series of painful looking moves. She is generally spurred on by a personal trainer barking commands and generally goading her to ever greater heights. While it might look entertaining to watch, not too many people have the stamina, strength or inclination to want to follow said celebrity through all of her bone jarring moves.

All you need to do is learn the dance moves that go along with the ever so catchy Latin music and then do as much or as little as you want. If there is one major positive about doing any really high energy exercise it is that it gets your system moving at a high rate of knots. This can only be good since it means you're expending energy that would otherwise (if you'd just carried on sitting on the sofa) have been transformed into fat!

There is so much of a health boost to be gained from doing this that you really have no excuse that will hold any water for not doing it. Come on, shaking your stuff to music is great fun, right?

Another great thing about Zumba is that it doesn't take too much figuring out to get a lot from it. Sure you will have to learn the dance moves to progress, but think about this.

If you are given a complicated diet sheet that you had to fill out each day and calculate the number of calories you were eating against the number of calories you were burning through your exercises, then shown a set of dance moves on a DVD to learn, which do you think you would learn first?

Most people would learn these cool dance moves because they are a whole load simpler than the alternative. Not only that but they're a lot of fun to do. While on the flip side, counting and calculating calories is just plain boring, boring and boring!
